What is the Fish Welfare Fund?

The Fish Welfare Fund was established by ECHO and SAA to promote the following Aims and Objectives;

Money donated to and held in the Fund shall be used for the following purposes;

  1. To promote and defend all the angling rights and interests of anglers, of all types and in all environments.

  2. To assist other angling and fishery organisations in establishing a single representative body for all of angling in England.

  3. In the interim, to represent the joint interests of SAA and ECHO, and anglers, within the Fisheries and Angling Conservation Trust Ltd (FACT), to Government, NGOs and other stakeholder bodies and organisations, in particular with regard to environmental and political matters of concern to angling.

  4. To campaign on behalf of all anglers for a cleaner, safer, healthier aquatic and marine environment.

The Fund is administered by eight Trustees, four appointed from the membership of each of the English Carp Heritage Organisation and the Specialist Anglers’ Alliance.
